Here's an article in the Washington Post about the decline of cursive skills among American schoolchildren. Is there a similar general decline in music manuscript skills among the notationally-literate? Do all institutions now permit their students to turn in computer-generated scores for assignments?

ReplyDeleteI encourage my students to do their harmony assignments on Finale Notepad because they can actually hear what they are writing.
ReplyDeleteMakes the world of difference for non-keyboard players, let me tell you.
