    I fondly remember watching Gerald McBoing Boing when I was a kid. Thanks for posting this.

    That, Spike Jones, and Ernie Kovacks smashing eggs into a frying pan in time to the 1812 Overature, were some of my earliest musical influences.

    It's any wonder my music sounds like it does. :)

  2. Yup, me too: McBoingBoing was a favorite of mine, back in the late 1940s, I suppose, along with Crusader Rabbit. I had no idea it was Gail Kubik's music. That Stravinsky-flavored commercial stuff was probably VERY influential on a subconscious level on a couple of generations of American composers, before the postmodernists began to study it seriously...

    What else. Anyone remember an LP of Mother Goose, with Celeste Holme, Cyril Ritchard, and Boris Karloff? Who wrote that music?
