Robert Irwin
The work of artist Robert Irwin is essential; I find that the way he talks about his work is essential, too: a model of radical clarity.
Creating works that do not begin or end at the edge. While I was studying under Huang Ruo, he spoke of this often, how works do not have to start with high, or low, or middle pitches, but rather, works that start everywhere. Thank you for posting this.
