Palling Around
Observation: Once a composer starts making music for anyone other than her- or himself, that composer becomes a community organizer.
Not really my own inclination, but those composers working toward the community direction are a welcome return toward replacing the gap left by chamber music in the home. Hindemith would have welcomed its spirit. And is it not an opportunity for music to be performed more than once? [No, the disposable composition is not the new sustainability] and isn't that what an Orchestra is? a community?
