Official Change-of-Terminology Notice
Upon executive order, from today, all augmented intervals and chords or scales based upon said intervals will be now known as "escalated". This is part of a paired, or symmetrical exchange of terms, and prior usage of the term "escalation" will now be deprecated in favor of "augmentation". US Secretary of State Rice formally inaugurated this terminological change in her recent testimony to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations:
